Ministerial Decree determining a List of Drugs and Other Pharmaceutical Products which must Appear in all Pharmaceutical Points of Sale

Decree 14 of 2005

The Minister of Health,Given the Constitution of June 4, 2003, as revised to date especially in its Articles 120(1), 121(1) and 201;Given of the Law n° 12/99 of 02/07/1999 of the pharmaceutical art, particularly in is articles 100 and 101;After consideration and adoption by the Cabinet in its meeting held on the 26th January 2005DECREED:

Article one

Pharmaceutical point of sale means any premise where the pharmaceutical activity is limited to the preservation and retail distribution of some drugs and other pharmaceutical products and whose management is reserved to a nurse or a pharmacist assistant.

Article 2

Hereby established, in conformity with the list herewith attached to this decree, is a list of drugs and other pharmaceutical products which must appear in all pharmaceutical points of sale.

Article 3

Any pharmaceutical point of sale must be in possession of, and regularly, the products appearing on the aforementioned list.

Article 4

Each wholesale pharmaceutical establishment shall distribute, to the pharmaceutical point of sale, only the products appearing on that list.

Article 5

The inspectorate of pharmacies of the Ministry of Health is responsible for the application and enforcement of this decree.

Article 6

All previous provisions contrary to this decree are abrogated.

Article 7

This decree comes into force sixty days after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Rwanda.
