Article One – Purpose of this Order
This Order empowers specific staff of the National Forestry Authority (NAFA) to act as judicial police officers.Article 2 – Granting the competence
The staff of NAFA whose functions are referred to in this Article shall be empowered to act as judicial police officers in regard to offences related to forests.Those are:1°Director of Forestry Field Programs;2°Head of Forests Management Service;3°the in charge of forest inventory, licensing and mapping;4°legal officer;5°Staff in charge of forests in Districts.Article 3 – Territorial competence
Staff referred to in point 1º, 2º, 3º and 4º of Article 2 of this Order shall have national jurisdictionThe competence of the Staff referred to in point 5º shall be limited at the level of the District in which they perform their duties.Article 4 – Execution of judicial police powers
While executing their investigative powers, the staff of National Forestry Authority (NAFA), shall work independently and in the respect of laws.Article 5 – Repealing provision
All prior provisions contrary to this Order are hereby repealed.Article 6 – Commencement
This Order shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Rwanda.History of this document
