Prime Minister's Order on Procedures for Transfer of Judicial Police Officers of Rwanda National Police

Prime Ministers Order 60 of 2017

The Prime Minister,Pursuant to the Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda of 2003 revised in 2015, especially in Articles 119, 120, 122 and 176;Pursuant to Law n° 12/2017 of 07/04/2017 establishing the Rwanda Investigation Bureau and determining its mission, powers, organisation and functioning, especially in Articles 40 and 41;On proposal by the Minister of Justice/Attorney General;After consideration and approval by the Cabinet, in its session of 26/04/2017.HEREBY ORDERS:

Article One – Exercising police judicial powers

As part of the procedures of the transfer of former Judicial Police Officers of Rwanda National Police to Rwanda Investigation Bureau, such personnel exercise in the interim judicial police powers of Rwanda Investigation Bureau.

Article 2 – Authority responsible for the implementation of this Order

The Minister of Justice/Attorney General is entrusted with the implementation of this Order.

Article 3 – Repealing provision

All prior provisions contrary to this Order are repealed.

Article 4 – Commencement

This Order comes into force on the date of signature. It takes effect as of 07/04/2017.
